Who We Are

Save the Children's Structure

Save the Children is the world’s largest independent global movement for children.

There are separate Save the Children organisations in 27 countries (see a list of the organisations) working together to improve children’s lives in over 110 countries (see where Save the Children works worldwide). The organisations range in size from offices with only few staff members to those employing thousands of people worldwide. The International Save the Children Alliance is a network of all Save the Children organisations, focusing on pooling resources, establishing common policies and carrying out joint projects.

All Save the Children organisations work with children in their own countries (see examples: Domestic Programmes in Fiji  or Domestic Programmes in the United States) as well as through international programmes.

Save the Children has a Secretariat based in London, United Kingdom, which supports and coordinates the efforts of all Save the Children organisations.

In order to influence United Nations bodies such as the Security Council and UNICEF (see Useful Links), Save the Children has established offices in New York and Geneva. Save the Children organisations in Europe also have a joint advocacy office in Brussels, which seeks to influence the European Community’s internal and global policies on children.
