Changing Power was an international conference that took place in May 2006 in Stockholm, Sweden. It was attended by 60 young Save the Children activists who came from all over the world, and was organised by Save the Children Youth in Denmark, Norway and Sweden, as well as youth volunteers from Save the Children Romania.
The theme of the conference was Article 12
from the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child - the right to express one's
views. The aim was for all those youth
working to make a difference in children's rights to meet, exchange
experiences, and inspire each other.
They also discussed how to maximise cooperation between all the youth
and adults working for Save the Children all over the world, and how they could
make use of each other's skills and experiences. It was a fantastic gathering where active
youth shared and learned new methods to improve their work on making the rights
of the child, as written in the UN convention, come true.
