Getting Involved

Hi!

My name is Frida Mörtlund and I have taken over from Sara Jonsson, working as the International Youth Coordinator for young people active in Save the Children.

My work comes as a result of an initiative from the Save the Children youth organisations in Denmark, Norway and Sweden. One of our first projects, an international conference held in May 2006, Changing Power, proved so successful that we wanted to continue the work - to network and cooperate internationally.

I am 24 years old and I have been active in Save the Children Sweden as well as the youth organisation of Save the Children Sweden, for eight years now. My main interests are how to improve the democracy within our organisation, and how to include young people from all different backgrounds in Save the Children. I also believe that we can improve the cooperation between the youth and adult sectors of Save the Children, and thereby become stronger and more creative in our work for children's rights.

I will be working from the office of PRESS - Redd Barna Ungdom in Oslo, Norway for the coming year. I really hope you can see me as a useful resource; either to support you in your work, put you in contact with other young people working towards the same cause, or simply to give you inspiration or share some of my experiences! Please also feel free to contact me if you wish to help me in the work that I am doing. If you have thoughts about how to improve the including of young people within Save the Children, as I am always open to new ideas and discussion.

I look forward to hearing from you!

Best wishes,
Frida
