Children and young people all over the world actively involved in Save the Children now have this space to tell each other and the world about all the things they are doing! Save the Children has over 10,000 youth volunteers all over the world, and thousands more inspiring stories. It's all about bringing to life the principles outlined in the UN's Convention on the Rights of the Child, and making a real difference.

We are not the future - we are now!

Save the Children Youth organisations

At present, there are three independent Save the Children Youth organisations. We are based in Denmark, Norway and Sweden, and work together through an association called the Nordic Cooperation. In this way, we learn from each other, exchange stories on our experiences, and coordinate projects involving other youth volunteers active within Save the Children the world over.

How are we working?

  • We are children and youth working for the rights of our peers both in Scandinavia and in the rest of the world.
  • We promote awareness of the rights of children and young people, and the political processes that surround them. This gives them the power and knowledge they will need to influence and make a change in the societies in which they live.
  • We organise programmes that bring together children and young people from many different backgrounds - for example, activities with child refugees in asylum centres.
