Mohammed's Story
" We came here with no clothes or shoes...we want to study... we want to go home... we want to play like other children and feel happy like them. "
This is the story of Mohammed Soboh, a 12 year old boy from Alatatra, in northern Gaza. Mohammed and his family fled their home 13 days ago and are now seeking shelter in an UN-sponsored school in Gaza city. In the classroom where they used to study, 50 people now sleep. Their situation is dire: there is no electricity, a lack of water and heat and children are scared. Mohammed's father feels powerless to help his 10 children.

Save the Children is calling for a peaceful solution to the current crisis that endangers the lives of nearly every child in Gaza, and the lives of Israeli children in areas subject to attacks. Save the Children is calling for a cessation of hostilities by all parties including air and ground assaults from Israel and rocket attacks from Gaza. The agency is also seeking free access for humanitarian assistance to allow aid agencies to provide much-needed relief to vulnerable children and so that children and their families can access essential services.
