Abdella, 17 years old, Grade 7 of Daral-Salam Co-educational School

I am from Gadeer Village, 20 km east of Geneina, the capital of West Darfur. My family left our home village because of the lack of peace. We now live in Kringding IDP camp where I go to school.

My picture shows...

My hope of peace in this area. I hope that peace will come in order to enable me and my family to go back to our home village. I have drawn children, who because of peace, can play freely, away from threats and Daral-Salam school, which I hope could keep up functioning providing education for children under peace. The flag of Sudan could be raised on all schools in villages. If there is peace all the water pots could be put on the street as before, like in my picture. Production of the trees will increase in peacetime. Peace will also encourage farmers to do their job using cultivation tools and because of peace all types of vehicles will move freely without threats of hijackers or robbers.

I think education can help build peace in Sudan because the good relationships among the students inside the school will reflect into good relationships among the family of different ethnic groups.
