Through the partner agencies, staff working at a regional level have developed collaborative and situational approaches to child protection issues, building on focussed training and capacity building activities at the national level. These activities have brought together a range of actors involved in child protection and, where possible, have supported existing child protection structures. They have also aimed to go beyond training, by encouraging participants to develop joint action plans for follow-up on identified critical issues.
Activities have been initiated in the East and Horn of Africa, the Great Lakes region of Africa, West Africa, Southern Africa, Eastern Europe, Pakistan/Afghanistan, Colombia and, more recently, in the Middle East and Thailand.
