Save the Children Australia has been providing humanitarian relief and development assistance predominantly in the health and education sectors to Papua New Guinea for more than 30 years.

Our current projects in Papua New Guinea include:

Health of children and their families
A partnership with government and local organisations supporting health services to a population of about 200,000 in about 1,500 villages in East Sepik province.
HIV and AIDS, sexual health and children and their families
Save the Children’s work contributes to arresting the growth of the HIV epidemic in PNG which helps in reducing the impacts of HIV and AIDS on the lives of children.
Orphans and vulnerable children project
Save the Children’s core work is to improve the well-being of children and young people and so intervening in the field of orphans and vulnerable children is paramount.
Violence against children and their family members
Save the Children’s work contributes to reducing the number of incidences of violence and the impact of violence in the lives of girls and boys.
Children with disabilities
In partnership with Church based organizations, Mt Sion Centre for the Blind and Callan Services supports screening and consultations in schools of about 5,000 children for any physical or mental disabilities.
Education and children's participation
Save the Children’s work contributes to improving the access and quality of education and participation to children.
