Save the Children Commits to Ethical Code

Toronto, ON (June 19, 2008) - Save the Children Canada is pleased to announce that it is one of the first 120 charities out of 83,000 in Canada to commit to follow Imagine Canada’s re-launched Ethical Fundraising and Financial Accountability Code*. The Ethical Code lays out a set of standards for charitable organizations to manage and report their financial affairs responsibly.   View the Code

Save the Children’s commitment to the Ethical Code demonstrates our compliance with generally accepted practices for soliciting and managing donor dollars.  As the world's largest, independent child-rights organization, Save the Children holds itself accountable not only to children, but to individuals and organizations who support our work.  We believe our donors are entitled to nothing less that transparency, accountability and the greatest impact possible for their investment.

Save the Children was recently interviewed for an article on the Ethical Code in the June 30th issue of Macleans magazine called In Charity We Trust
