EDUCATION FOR HEALTH

Taking into consideration the critical situation the Romanian situation confronts with regarding the sexually transmitted diseases, including HIV/AIDS and drug use among adolescents and youths – the increasingly young age of becoming sexually active, the occurrence of the number of HIV positive persons, the lack of information in this field, the small number of social services for HIV/AIDS infected children – Save the Children Organization considered very necessary to develop a program of information/education on the above mentioned issues.

Beginning with 1998, Save the Children Romania has started the program Education for Health, which is developing in Bucharest, through the General Secretariat, and in the country, in Targu Mures, Negresti – Vaslui county, Craiova, Mangalia and Resita.
