HOW TO HELP CHILDREN IN AFGHANISTAN RIGHT NOW

Save the Children is gravely concerned for the safety and wellbeing of children in Afghanistan. Those who have managed to flee will now need help and protection to travel safely to new countries to rebuild their lives.

But millions of children remain in Afghanistan, cut off from supplies, out of school, facing the threat of violence, and strained by a third wave of COVID. Children in Afghanistan will need humanitarian aid in order to survive.

The work of our nearly 900 local Afghan staff and 1,300 community health workers will be the lifeline for many over the coming months. There are now waiting to resume their work, but with foreign aid cut off, and limited supply routes into the country, they need donations to continue providing food, medical care, education and shelter to those families with nowhere else to turn.

Please donate to help Afghan children today.

WHAT IS SAVE THE CHILDREN DOING IN AFGHANISTAN

Our work in Afghanistan will not stop. We will stay and help children rebuild their lives. But we need your generosity and compassion to make this possible.

We've been working in Afghanistan since 1976 to deliver lifesaving services to children and their families across the country. We provide health, education, child protection, nutrition and livelihoods services, reaching over 1.6 million Afghans in 2020.

We are also equipped and ready to respond to humanitarian crises in Afghanistan with our staff and supplies ready to meet the needs of Afghans affected or displaced by natural disasters such as drought and by conflict.
