Poverty Reduction, Gender Equality and Inclusion Director

We are currently recruiting for a Poverty Reduction, Gender Equality and Inclusion Director to provide thought leadership, and play a central role in developing our strategies in these key areas; with a distinct focus on the most deprived and marginalised children.

 

In this role you will strengthen our understanding of child poverty and gender inequality, and identify/follow up on opportunities with academia, researchers, donors and the media to strengthen the profile and value of Save the Children with external stakeholders.

 

You will also contribute to the development of first-class evidence and evaluation work, advance key programme and advocacy priorities internally, and engage with the three Breakthrough teams to ensure programme impact in regards to poverty reduction and gender inequality.

In order to be successful you will also bring:

  • Significant experience designing, implementing and evaluating gender sensitive and transformative programs relating to economic, livelihoods, food security, youth programming, resilience and/or social protection with focus on children in development and humanitarian contexts
  • A proven record of accomplishment in regards to influencing poverty reduction and gender equality public and programme policy
  • Knowledge of policy, research and evidence-based methodologies in regards to poverty reduction, gender equality or related field, and other relevant child focused programming.
  • Proven experience of working at the interface between programme design and delivery, research and public policy engagement
  • A demonstrable ability to broker collaboration and engagement between organizations to contribute to shared goals and objectives.
  • Proven senior level experience leading diverse, complex initiatives and virtual teams to achieve agreed objectives.
  • A willingness and ability to travel (up to 25%)

This role could be based in London, or any existing Save the Children location, and offers a competitive package based on national terms and conditions.
