Deputy General Cousel
We are currently looking for a Deputy General Counsel to join our in-house Legal team in our central London office, near Trafalgar Square.
Reporting directly to, and deputising for, the General Counsel you will be a key part of our international legal team; providing legal advice and support to clients here in our London office, and our Regional and Country offices. You’ll line manage a team of around 7 lawyers, and support the General Counsel in providing high level legal advice on a wide range of issues, including: general commercial law, contracts, legal aspects of our international programming and humanitarian work, legal risk, compliance requirements, brand protection, governance, and Board related matters.
To be successful in this role you will be a qualified lawyer with circa 10years+ PQE in a commercial (private practise or in-house) or INGO context. You’ll bring sound commercial and contractual knowledge in an international environment, with the ability to influence at a senior level, and a good understanding of the context in which Save the Children operates.
On a personal level you will be enthusiastic and proactive, with a strong cultural awareness and the ability to quickly build credibility and strong working relationships with key members, therefore you must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills to communicate at all levels
Previous experience of managing a team is essential as you will be responsible for the day to day management of a team, including the recruitment of volunteers. It is essential that you possess excellent organisational skills with the ability to respond effectively to multi priorities.
The role offers a salary that is in the context with the sector, including a company Pension Scheme and a 30 days’ annual leave
