bombs, airstrikes, bullets, hunger and fear has shattered the childhoods of children in Gaza.

Mass killing has intensified since the beginning of the campaign on 5 October. Between 4 and 29 October, according to the Ministry of Health in Gaza, 1,259 people were killed and 4,343 were injured across Gaza, with at least four mass casualty incidents reported in north Gaza alone in the last week of October. The latest was on October 29th, when a building housing displaced families was hit by an Israeli strike, killing in 93 people, including 25 children, with reports of dozens of people still missing under the rubble. The Ministry of Health in Gaza warned that rescue operations have effectively shut down, meaning that children who survive the strikes will be left to die alone, without the care and resources they desperately need.

On top of the relentless violence, a critical polio vaccination campaign has been suspended due to the siege, endangering the lives and futures of Gaza’s children. Over 119,000 children in northern Gaza remain at risk of polio and other preventable diseases, as humanitarian workers are blocked from reaching them amidst intensifying bombardments and systematic denial of access from Israeli authorities.

Hospitals have been forced into a state of total collapse. The Ministry of Health in Gaza reported that children are dying due to a lack of oxygen after an Israeli strike damaged the oxygen facility in Kamal Adwan Hospital, where over 150 injured people currently lie in the courtyard, unable to receive life-saving treatment. With no surgical teams, anaesthetists, or intensive care staff remaining, even those who survive the airstrikes and somehow reach hospitals face an almost certain death due to the lack of essential care. This complete lack of specialised medical staff, essential medicines, and equipment is not incidental or accidental—it is the direct result of a systematic bombing and blockade that deprived people of their right to health and survival.

PLEASE DONATE NOW TO CHILDREN IN GAZA AND AROUND THE WORLD, WHERE THE NEEDS ARE greatest AND MOST URGENT.

1 in 6 children lives in a conflict zone. And every year, hundreds of thousands of children die from the effects of war – such as violence, malnutrition, disease and cut off access to health care and water. Donate now and help us be there for children living in crisis in Gaza and across the world.

OUR RESPONSE

For the past year, Save the Children has been working tirelessly, with local partners, to provide emergency support and help pick up the shattered pieces of children’s lives. We’re doing everything possible to provide lifesaving food, water, healthcare and safe places for children to play and learn. But the ongoing siege and restrictions on delivering aid have made this extremely challenging. The situation remains dire, and it is crucial that the siege is lifted, and all crossings are opened to ensure that lifesaving aid reaches those in need.

OUR IMPACT

  1. Save the Children continues to support lifesaving services and interventions for children and their families in Gaza with health, nutrition, and WASH, child protection and learning, and food distributions and multi-purpose cash assistance. We are currently working with communities across 49 locations.
  2. Despite the severe obstacles that hinder a meaningful humanitarian response, our teams and local partners are delivering essential supplies and services while advocating for an immediate and definitive ceasefire and unimpeded humanitarian access. We stand ready to scale-up our support to children as soon as we are able to safely.
  3. Apart from Gaza, we're also helping in the West Bank, where we've supported families facing increased settler violence by providing emergency cash and running child protection activities. In Egypt, we've ensured access to essential supplies, supported medical evacuees from Gaza, and trained first responders. In Lebanon, we've assisted displaced individuals by providing clean water, food, hygiene products, and mental health support.

Please donate now. Your support will help us keep delivering this lifesaving support and rebuild shattered childhoods.
