HELP US REBUILD CHILDHOODS IN GAZA
When Tima* found out she was pregnant in July 2023, she was excited to be having her second child and started to think about how she would spoil her new baby. Then in October 2023, the war in Gaza started and everything changed. Tima and her family were displaced multiple times as fighting expanded across the Gaza strip. They now live in a tent in central Gaza.
Tima was terrified about where she would be able to give birth safely, given the continuous attacks on healthcare facilities during the war. On 26 April 2024, baby Lana* became the first baby to be born at Save the Children’s new maternity unit in the Gaza Strip.

The resumption of hostilities in Gaza is nothing short of a death sentence for children. Dozens of children are reported to be among the victims of recent Israeli airstrikes.
Gaza’s children are being bombed in their tents and make-shift shelters as the inescapable living nightmare continues in Gaza. This massacre comes after they’ve been cut off from essential and much needed food and aid, compounding already decimated conditions for their survival after months of war and aid restrictions by Israeli authorities. We urgently need international action to protect children and families now.
We must act now to protect their futures and give them a chance to be children again. Please donate now to children in Gaza, the West Bank and around the world, where the needs are most urgent.

Denying humanitarian aid is a crime under international law and a grave violation against children. The international community must act now to ensure that international humanitarian law in Gaza and human rights law in the West Bank is followed. A definitive ceasefire remains the only way to ensure children are protected from further bodily and mental harm.
"We demand an immediate and definitive ceasefire and restrictions on humanitarian aid to be immediately lifted. Gaza's children need a complete end to this war and to the cycle of violence that has already marked the childhoods of children in Gaza since birth. We cannot fail Palestinian children again. Their lives hang in the balance, and the world must act to protect them, as is their legal obligation", said Ahmad Alhendawi, Save the Children’s Regional Director.
Please give now to protect children in Gaza, the West Bank and around the world, where the needs are most urgent. Any amount you can give will make a huge difference.
OUR RESPONSE
Save the Children has been supporting Palestinian children since 1953 and has maintained a permanent presence in the occupied Palestinian territory since 1973. Our response has significantly scaled up since October 2023, leveraging our existing footprint, technical expertise, and partnerships to address the evolving humanitarian crisis. As of 11 February 2025, Save the Children and its partners have reached more than 1.2 million people across the occupied Palestinian territory, including over 1.1 million people in Gaza.
Amidst extremely challenging conditions, we’ve been working around the clock to find ways to deliver aid to children. Despite immense challenges, we are:
- Providing lifesaving aid: Delivering food, clean water, medical supplies, and hygiene products to families in need.
- Safe places and health: Establishing child-friendly spaces, temporary learning centres, and mobile health services to support families as they return to destroyed communities.
- Advocating for peace: Urging the international community to ensure a lasting ceasefire, unimpeded humanitarian access, and accountability for violations of children’s rights.
OUR IMPACT
- Save the Children continues to support lifesaving services and interventions for children and their families in Gaza with health, nutrition, and WASH, child protection and learning, and food distributions and multi-purpose cash assistance. We are currently working with communities across 49 locations.
- Despite the severe obstacles that hinder a meaningful humanitarian response, our teams and local partners are delivering essential supplies and services while advocating for an immediate and definitive ceasefire and unimpeded humanitarian access. We stand ready to scale-up our support to children as soon as we are able to safely.
- Apart from Gaza, we're also helping in the West Bank, where we've supported families facing increased settler violence by providing emergency cash and running child protection activities. In Egypt, we've ensured access to essential supplies, supported medical evacuees from Gaza, and trained first responders. In Lebanon, we've assisted displaced individuals by providing clean water, food, hygiene products, and mental health support.
We could not do this without our supporters. Donate now and help children like Lana in Gaza and around the world.
