We HELP CHILDREN OVERCOME THEIR LIMITATIONS
In 2020 Save the Children and Hyundai formed a partnership aligned under a common goal:
Helping some of the most deprived children to overcome their limitations by creating a safe and healthy environment in which they can survive and thrive. Our partnership focuses on providing community-based access to healthcare services for children and families in remote areas in Mandera, Kenya.
In support of our cause, Hyundai is launching a new Europe-wide campaign aiming to “Go big” for children by raising awareness and actively engaging consumers. One test drive of the new i10-model gives one hour of health worker service for children in need.
SAVING LIVES THROUGH COMMUNITY HEALTH WORKERS
Ensuring that no child dies from a preventable disease by 2030
Thousands of children under 5 die every day from preventable diseases like pneumonia, malaria and diarrhoea because they cannot get the care they need. But Save the Children is changing the landscape. We train and support our Community Health Workers to assess, diagnose and treat children at home so that every child can be reached in time to avoid the worst outcome. Our frontline health workers are working within their own communities, for their communities. They are revolutionising healthcare in the hardest to reach places.
BENEFITING CHILDREN WITH DISABILITIES
For families living in remote areas and struggling to afford healthcare, community health workers are an invaluable extension of the health system, vital for
- identifying children with disabilities
- referring them to appropriate health care.
Based on their needs, Save the Children directly supports children with disabilities by organizing and supporting their referral and access to assistive devices and physiotherapy.
