Nigeria demands better health centres during Race for Survival
Children in Nigeria participated in a race and a parade during Race for Survival in Katsina state. Children also made presentations to policy makers in attendance, asking them to focus on the MDG countdown. Children used the opportunity to remind the state government of their responsibility towards ensuring that their commitments towards achieving the MDGs are met before the end of 2015.
Vietnam students run Race for Survival for better health services for children in remote and ethnic minority communities
More than 200 students from seven colleges of Hue University ran around the citadel city of Hue to appeal for joint efforts by the government and communities to reduce the death of children caused by preventable diseases and to improve health services for disadvantaged children in remote and ethnic minority communities.
This “Race for Survival” is an annual event by Save the Children as part of its Everyone Campaign which aims to reduce the mortality rate of children under 5 to 1/3 by 2015.
