CHANGE THE COURSE OF A GLOBAL CRISIS
Take action and call on world leaders to create a safe, happy and healthy world for our children, free from harm and hunger.
Children are facing more extreme weather in an increasingly unequal world. Climate related droughts and flooding destroy crops, livestock and livelihoods. Millions of children are facing a hunger crisis, the scale of which the world has never seen before. Millions of families in rich and poor countries alike can’t get a good meal every day as they face spiralling food prices.
It doesn’t have to be this way. Children are speaking up and leading the way towards a better world and it’s time for us to follow their lead. World leaders must listen to their calls, tackle the root causes of these crises and put children first. Rich, industrialised countries must step up and take immediate and significant action on the climate crisis.
IT’S TIME TO ACT
This year, world leaders have a window of opportunity to put children first at two key global meetings - the G20 taking place in Indonesia and the COP in Egypt where they must make progress to:
- Urgently tackle the climate crisis: Limit global warming to 1.5 degrees, including by phasing out fossil fuels and simultaneously taking measures that can lift families out of poverty
- Invest in children: Fund strong children’s services and safety nets to help children and families adapt to changes in the climate and cope in tough times
- Listen to children and give them a seat at the table in decisions that affect their lives now and in the future
Send this message to world leaders, join Generation Hope and be part of our campaign for a fairer, greener and more equal world for our children.
