The main offices of these organizations are located in Juba, but our work is in different parts of the country. As part of our efforts to create more effective and greater impact for children, Save the Children is in the process of bringing these three SC agencies together into one organization, Save the Children in South Sudan.
A Country Leadership group comprising representatives of the SC members active in South Sudan will oversee this work. SC UK is the “Managing Member” and is responsible for overseeing the unified presence process and direct management of Save the Children South Sudan programme thereafter.
The incumbent will report to the Regional Director Save the Children UK who is the designated Managing Member for South Sudan. The Designate Country Director, on behalf of the Managing Member, is in turn accountable to the Country Leadership Group ( CLG), which is made up of the regional representatives of Participating Members.
Manage and implement the unification of SC Sweden, SC UK, and SC US field operations in South Sudan, as determined by the country implementation plan approved by the Country Leadership Group.
During and after this process in 2008/09, lead the management and development of Save the Children in South Sudan programme on behalf of the participating SC members.
