We create learning opportunities because the first years shape a lifetime. Our approach engages children in early learning and tailors it to each crucial stage of their formative years, fostering their curiosity for learning and ensuring they stay caught up.

We build their curiosity even before school starts through daycare centers for the children (aged 0-3) of ready-made garments (RMG) workers, combining education with quality care. Our investment in Early Childhood Development (ECD) to enhance lifelong learning potential, focusing on children’s foundational learning and development, and on increasing enrollment and graduation rates. To promote equal opportunities in education, we initiated science, technology, engineering & mathematics (STEM) sessions for girls. By addressing literacy and numeracy learning gaps, we want to ensure that children go from falling behind to eager to return to school. Our capacity-building efforts guide teachers in meeting the educational needs of students who need them most.

Going beyond the classroom, we organize parenting and positive discipline in everyday parenting (PDEP) and engage stakeholders, government officials, and education officers to enhance quality education.  To broaden the scope of education, we seek mainstream climate change adaptation and environmental sustainability across the sector.

Stemming Up

We promote STEM education amongst children of garment workers, with a particular focus on girls, to foster their interest and representation in the field. There is a significant gap in STEM representation, with only 21% of Bangladesh’s graduates being female. Focusing on changing mindsets, our approach includes addressing cultural barriers and addressing inequities that prevent girls from pursuing the field while introducing them to employment opportunities within it. Our Training of Trainers (ToT) modules guide teachers and STEM facilitators in effectively instructing in relevant subjects.

Every Step of the Way

Our life-cycle approach is designed to support children's developmental needs during the early stages of life. We start at daycares for infants and toddlers, ensuring proper care, nutrition, and early development stimulation. Our early learning and pre-primary programs serve children aged 3-5 and 5-6, respectively, building a foundation for their cognitive, social, emotional, and motor skills. Many children who fall behind tend to drop out of school altogether. To bridge their learning gaps, our remedial support for children of RMG workers covers grades 1 to 2 by improving their literacy, numeracy, and basic comprehension.

Back to the Classrooms

Our foundational learning support for primary-grade learners provides remedial support and fosters a community that puts education first. We enhance teachers’ capacities in remedial education and encourage a motivated faculty to best support students falling behind. Tailored to foundational learning competencies in primary grades, we collaborate with these educators to address literacy and numeracy learning gaps. Our engagement with government stakeholders, district, and upazila education officials, and primary education training instructors further supports teachers’ development and maintains a strong local network for quality education.

Climate Curriculum

We want an education sector that is ready for climate impacts by integrating national capacities for climate adaptation and environmental sustainability into its plans, budgets, and strategies. These efforts are improving the education ministry’s contributions to climate- and environment-related policies and programming. Our support to the ministry includes developing evidence-based policies and plans, expanding access to climate finance for the sector’s activities, and improving school infrastructure to mitigate climate risks. We also strengthen cross-sectoral coordination on climate change policy and programming, and facilitate access to climate data and its integration into planning and monitoring systems.
