The Opportunity The Obstetrics and Gynecology (Obs/Gyn) Lead will oversee the delivery of high-quality medical care to pregnant women and their unborn babies. He/she will be responsible for managing patients from the prenatal phase, during labour and delivery, expect to perform both emergency and planned Obs/Gyn surgeries, manage obstetric complications (such as instrumental deliveries), and train and support both surgical and midwifery staff and then provide post-partum care follow-up to both mother and newborn. Plus, He/she will provide valuable learning experiences and mentorship for fellow colleagues and help advance the field of obstetrics through active participation in field interventions. The incumbent will work closely with the Neonatologist, Anesthetist, operating theatre staff, medical officers’ nurses, midwives, and will have direct communication with another program team.
Qualifications and Experience• Minimum of 5 years’ experience practicing independently as an Obs /Gynae.• Preferable training in advanced life support (adult, pediatric and neonatal) or equivalent.• Proven capacity to supervise, train and coach relevant staff.• Experience in a leadership role within a department clinical lead • Proven experience of delivering service improvement and managing change with own or other organization.• Sound knowledge on the Bangladesh health system and humanitarian context, excellent technical knowledge on child health.• MBBS, preferably with FCPS recognized by the BMDC or Having 2 year’s Diploma with 3-year experience after completion of diploma.
