SUMMARY
TITLE: Health Management Information Officer

CHILD SAFEGUARDING: Level 3: √ the post holder will have contact with children and/or young people either frequently (e.g. once a week or more) or intensively (e.g. four days in one month or more or overnight) because they work country programs; or are visiting country programs; or because they are responsible for implementing the police checking/vetting process staff.
ROLE PURPOSE: Manage the health information system of the Health Programme.
SCOPE OF ROLE: Reports to: Health Coordinator Key working relationships:.Health,Nutrition officers,Coordinators,Manager&Extrenally with MoH and Health partners.
KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY :
- Support routine data collection and entry of health data into the program database, SCI IMPACT.
- Ensure health facilities have reporting tools and staff understand how to use them. These includes summary sheets, registers.
- Analyze weekly, Monthly and quarterly program data and advise the program team on the indicator’s performance.
- Work with the County and state HMIS officer to ensure data from SCI supported facilities are reported in the DHIS2.
- Ensure timeliness and accuracy of the program data.
- Lead on conducting data quality audits at the health facilities and ensure corrective actions are in place to correct variances.
- Support the health facilities in the preparation of monitor charts, morbidity tends and ensure they are up to date and displayed on the walls.
- Participate in programme data review meetings and work closely with the MEAL officer in conducting monitoring visits.
- Participate in cluster information working groups and ensure SCI effectively contributes to the discussions.
- Keep documentation of the facility summaries.
- Ensure facilities observe best practices on health data management, safe patient record keeping.

QUALIFICATIONS
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS Essential
- Bachelor degree/Diploma in Nursing health sciences, Statistics, Public health and other related field.
- Experience working in similar roles.
- Training in Monitoring and evaluation.
- Excellent computer skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
Fluency in the local language is an asset. Desirable:
- Diploma in statistics.
