Job Opportunity: Human Resources Assistant
Location: River Nile , Sudan
Contract Type: One-Year, Full-Time
Grade: NAT 5
Reports to: Line Reporting to the Head of Programme Implementation (Head of Office) and Functionally reporting to the East Northern HR Area Coordinator
Child Safeguarding Level: Level 3 – Regular and intensive contact with children and young people
About the Role
Are you passionate about human resources and eager to make a real impact? We’re seeking a Human Resources Assistant to join our dedicated HR team in Omdurman. In this pivotal role, you will support the full range of HR functions across the employee lifecycle — from recruitment and onboarding to record management and payroll support.
You will help ensure our HR operations are compliant, efficient, and aligned with both local labor laws and Save the Children’s internal policies.
Key Responsibilities
Recruitment & Onboarding

  • Support the end-to-end recruitment process, ensuring transparency and compliance
  • Maintain recruitment records and trackers
  • Facilitate onboarding and orientation sessions

HR Administration & Compliance

  • Maintain accurate personnel files (both hard and electronic)
  • Draft official HR letters and manage correspondence
  • Collect monthly timesheets and ensure approvals
  • Coordinate with operations and the HR team on policy updates and implementation

Payroll & Benefits Support

  • Collaborate with Finance to manage payroll deductions, allowances, and tax matters
  • Assist in registering staff with the National Social Insurance Fund and maintain monthly reports

General HR Support

  • Uphold confidentiality in managing employee data
  • Ensure staff acknowledgment of HR policies and code of conduct
  • Contribute to the development of efficient HR systems and processes

What We’re Looking For

  • Must Have:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Human Resource Management, or related field
  • Prior HR Experience
  • Strong knowledge of Sudanese labor laws and INGO operational context
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
  • Good command of English and Arabic (spoken and written)
  • Additional Advantages:
  • Minimum 2 years’ HR experience with INGO
  • Strong computer proficiency, especially in Microsoft Word and Excel
