About the role

We are currently looking for a Senior Child Protection Advisor to join our team. As the Senior Child Protection Advisor, you will generally be deployed as the Lead Senior Technical Advisor to provide technical expertise to support country, regional and member offices in the development and implementation of high-quality, integrated programming often specifically focusing on strengthening child protection systems and programming related to safe and appropriate care.

 

You will bring to the role extensive experience in delivering high quality programmes and technical support across multiple countries in capacity building and in strengthening various duty bearers understanding of and response to child protection with understanding of principles, practices and policy priorities related to child protection, including child protection system strengthening and/or alternative care and knowledge of policy, research and evidence-based methodologies with regards to child protection, and other relevant child focused programming. You will demonstrate an ability of training staff in child protection, participation and accountability approaches. 

 

Proficiency in English and working knowledge of a second language – French, Spanish, or Arabic (with French and Spanish especially desirable) is a must.

Roving Technical Experts 

Roving Technical Expert (TE) roles will be rapidly deployed by the GEHSP across the movement to cover critical technical gaps and deliver technical excellence to drive impact for children. They will provide dedicated support that is available to deploy regularly and flexibly depending on the requests received on the GEHSP. The main responsibilities of this post will vary according to the terms of reference for each assignment.
