SYRIA: RENEWED fighting DEEPEN CRISIS FOR CHILDREN
After 14 years of conflict, Syria stands at a critical moment. While parts of the country have seen fragile calm, children and families continue to live with the consequences of war, displacement, and hunger.
In Northeastern Syria, escalating violence in recent days has forced around 10,000 people, including 5,000 children, to flee overnight in freezing winter conditions. 1 in 5 displaced families have children under two. Many are sheltering in overcrowded camps or buildings without adequate heating, sanitation, or basic services. Despite a fragile ceasefire agreed, humanitarian needs remain high.
Years of conflict and economic collapse have left 16.7 million people in need of humanitarian assistance. Children make up nearly half of those affected.
Children in Syria and across the world need urgent help. Your donation today can save lives, protect children, and bring hope where it is needed most.

Children are bearing the brunt of this crisis. They urgently need food, ready-to-eat meals, blankets, warm winter clothing, hygiene supplies and baby items, and fuel for heating to help them cope in the days and weeks ahead. Displacement also exposes them to heightened risks of family separation, exploitation, psychosocial distress and interrupted learning

OUR RESPONSE
- Life-saving aid is already reaching families. We are distributing hygiene kits, blankets, mattresses, and dignity kits to displaced families.
- More support is urgently needed. In the coming weeks, we plan to expand food and cash assistance, provide winter supplies such as warm clothing and fuel, and prioritise child protection services, psychosocial support, and safe spaces to help children recover.
Save the Children has worked in Syria since 2012 and has reached more than 11 million people, including over 5 million children, with education, health, nutrition, protection and water services..
Our teams continue to monitor the situation, assess urgent needs, and stand ready to scale up our response, but we need your support. Please make a gift today to the Child Emergency Fund. As we prepare to intensify our aid operations, unimpeded humanitarian access to all areas will be critical to ensure that we can provide immediate, lifesaving aid to address the needs of all those across Syria, wherever they are.
As we look to the future, longer-term investment in education, economic recovery, and resilience-building, is crucial to secure a better future for Syria’s children.
