Save the Children in Bolivia
Save the Children began its operations in Bolivia in 1985, intending to contribute to the comprehensive development of children and adolescents in the most vulnerable circumstances. We work through both development programs and humanitarian response, in collaboration and coordination with communities, civil society organizations, and authorities.
Our Country Strategy
We work in Bolivia to ensure:
- Children, especially from indigenous and vulnerable contexts, grow, develop, and thrive in nurturing family and community environments.
- Children, adolescents, and their families strengthen their resilience and are empowered to exercise their rights.
- Children, families, and communities affected by crises and climate change improve their resilience and response capacities.
- Children and adolescents are protected from all forms of violence through strengthened, gender-sensitive protection systems.
For achieving these objectives, we are:
- Strengthening the equitable participation and advocacy capacity of children, adolescents, and civil society in formulating and implementing public policies that promote their comprehensive well-being.
- Building and reinforcing partnerships and alliances to optimize actions related to children's rights and gender equality.
- Scaling up our best practices in government, institutional, and community management systems.
What we do
Save the Children in Bolivia works to ensure every child survives, learns and is protected. We focus on improving access to quality education, health and nutrition, protecting children from violence, and helping communities prepare for and respond to disasters.
By strengthening local systems and advocating for children’s rights, we aim to reach the most vulnerable girls and boys and create lasting change so every child can grow up safe, healthy and able to fulfil their potential.
