On 26 February 2026, Save the Children, in partnership with SunRice Group and the Dak Lak Union of Friendship Organizations, organized a rice distribution programme to support people and children affected by disasters across the province.
The event was attended by representatives from the Provincial People’s Committee Office, the Department of Foreign Affairs, local authorities from beneficiary areas.

As part of this support, a total of 23 tons of rice were distributed to 460 households with children affected by disasters (including 11.5 tons for Dong Hoa Ward, 4 tons for Phu Yen Ward, and 7.5 tons for Tay Hoa Commune). Each household received 50 kg of rice, helping to ease immediate difficulties and stabilize daily living for families heavily impacted by disasters.

Prior to this, the programme also delivered 1 ton of rice to children with disabilities at the Phu Yen Center for Inclusive Education Support, providing timely assistance to vulnerable children in especially difficult circumstances.

In total, 24 tons of rice funded by Save the Children International (UK), with the support of SunRice Group, were delivered to the intended beneficiaries. These rice distributions provided practical support during the recovery phase, helping families reduce immediate pressures and gradually stabilize their lives after the disaster.

Save the Children will continue to work closely with local partners in recovery and long-term support efforts, ensuring that children and families affected by disasters are better equipped to cope with future risks related to natural hazards and climate change.
