Save The Children Joins 16 Days of Activism

Save the Children has joined the Government of Liberia and other partners to launch the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence.  

The Liberia Office of Save the Children International (SCI) has joined the Government of Liberia and other partners for the launch of this year’s 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence (GBV). 

The event was launched on Monday, November 25 at the Ellen Johnson Sirleaf Ministerial Complex in Congo Town outside Monrovia.

The launch event, which was preceded by an anti-Rape March, brought together relevant government ministries and agencies, International Non- Governmental Organizations (INGOs) including Save the Children, among others.

Save the Children, the world’s leading independent child rights organization, has been in the vanguard for more than a century to protect women and girls including children against all forms of violence and abuse.

The 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence is a global campaign launched by the Women’s Global Leadership Institute and recognized by governments worldwide to highlight violence against women and girls as a human rights violation. 

The campaign, which runs from November 25 to December 10, 2024, is being held the Global theme: “Towards Beijing +30: UNiTE to End Violence against Women and Girls and National theme: “From Talk to Action! Let’s Join Hands to end Violence against Women and Girls to achieve Beijing +30.”
