By designing and implementing education programmes and advocating for improved access to learning, Save the Children aims to reach all girls and boys across Sierra Leone, not only through traditional and formal education but through creative learning environments and tools.
Our priority is getting the most marginalized children (out of school children, child mothers, child-headed households and children from poor households in remote rural areas and urban slum communities) to return to school, stay in school and learn. See our current education initiatives below:
Education Programs
RIGHT TO BE A CHILD - EDUCATIONAL SUPPORT COMPONENT
The project focuses on vulnerable children aged 7–14 who are behind in learning, particularly in literacy and numeracy. It seeks to improve children’s learning outcomes and strengthen their ability to advocate for their rights through enhanced teacher capacity, improved access to learning materials, and targeted support for underperforming learners
