Description: The project aims to strengthen the resilience of Istanbul’s education system to disasters and to integrate inclusive emergency preparedness and education process into the school environment. It will be based on Save the Children’s Safe Schools common approach, which forms the organizations institutional framework. The project will also implement child-led activities to support active participation, encouraging children to advocate for their own safety and wellbeing.

Key Activities of the Project:
•    Conduct a Day 1 Workshop with Save the Children Türkiye staff to assess preparedness levels for education in emergencies. Develop advance preparedness activities based on self-assessment outcomes.
•    Pre-position, review and update teaching and learning materials on child protection and case referral.
•    Implement play-based activities in Safe Schools children's clubs on topics.
•    Conduct risk and capacity mapping to create risk maps in schools.
•    Update and create risk-informed school improvement plans and allocate funding or support implementation.
•    Train teachers on Safe School topics, including child protection, psychological first aid, and positive discipline.
•    Empower children through child advocacy clubs to influence decisions on their safety and wellbeing in schools.
•    Conduct group awareness sessions with caregivers on positive parenting and child protection.
•    Conduct group awareness sessions with children and organize child-led campaigns on school safety.
•    Conduct national campaigns advocating for educational continuity during and after emergencies.

Criteria: This project targets children aged 5-18, families/caregivers, teachers and school administrations in targeted schools.
