Location: Hatay
Implementing agency: Save the Children Türkiye, Development Foundation of Turkey (DFT)
Operating Sectors: Education and MHPSS
Activities:
This project aims to strengthen early learning and well-being for children aged 3–6 in Hatay through an inclusive, play-based Early Childhood Development (ECD) intervention. Implemented by Save the Children in partnership with the Development Foundation of Türkiye (TKV), the project develops contextualized ECD resources, delivers structured play-based sessions for children, and supports caregivers through the Ready to Learn @ Home approach, focusing on responsive caregiving, positive parenting, and home-based learning.
Key activities include
- facilitator training and ongoing coaching, piloting adapted ECD content,
- promoting inclusive ECD practices through a bilingual (Turkish–Arabic) social media campaign and stakeholder dissemination efforts.
The project integrates gender equality, disability inclusion, and refugee accessibility throughout, and is supported by a robust Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) system to ensure quality, continuous learning, and sustainability.
Criteria: Children aged 3-6 and their families
Design block–based activities support children’s learning in a safe environment, help them express themselves, and encourage interaction with their peers. Through play, these activities aim to strengthen children’s creativity, communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills, while also promoting learning in a fun and engaging way.
