Communication event series “Child Protection, Injury Prevention and Online Safety” were organized at 119 schools in Lao Cai.
Summer is a time for children to rest, explore and participate in activities beyond the classroom. As children spend more time playing outdoors, travelling and using the Internet, revisiting and practicing safety skills can help them better protect themselves.
From 15 to 30 May 2026, Save the Children in collaboration with the Lao Cai Department of Education and Training held the communication event series “Child Protection, Injury Prevention and Online Safety” at 119 primary and lower secondary schools in project areas, engaging around 40,000 students, teachers and school staff.

Through the “Ring the Golden Bell” game format, students explored important safety knowledge and skills in a lively and age-appropriate way, from drowning prevention and recognizing common injury risks to responding to dangerous situations and staying safe online.

From schools to families and communities, the knowledge children build today will help them enjoy a safer, healthier summer with more positive experiences.
