Building Climate Resilience from Indigenous Perspectives (BCRIP) is a four year (2024 – 2028) Indigenous-led project funded by Global Affairs Canada (Indigenous Peoples Partnering for Climate funding stream). BCRIP aims to challenge normalized international development narratives by uplifting Indigenous knowledge systems and science and contributing to Indigenous Peoples’ rights, Self[1]Determination and Climate Leadership.

Opportunity
BCRIP will fund Indigenous-led Nature-based Solutions projects implemented in Bolivia, Colombia, Guatemala, and Peru. The applicants should prepare proposals jointly in partnership with Indigenous Peoples in Canada. The goals of these partnerships are knowledge sharing, relationship building, and advancing joint advocacy.

Projects should also focus on several cross[1]cutting themes, such as Indigenous-led climate action, Indigenous self-determination, rights, knowledge systems/science and gender equality.

BCRIP aims to fund 8 – 12 Partnership Projects, each with a duration of 12-24 months.
The team is anticipating distributing up to $207,000 per project in Canada; and between 100,000-122,000 CAD (small fund), 300,000-390,000 CAD (medium fund), 600,000-633,000 CAD (large grant) per project in the before mentioned Latin American countries.

Stay tuned for our Call for Proposals being launched in the coming days. Proposals will be due in April; more details to come in the Call.
