Health 

We have been delivering primary healthcare services to enhance community healthcare across Myanmar. We have been training community-based health workers (CBHWs) to provide essential services, including treatment for common childhood illnesses, malaria, hygiene promotion, disease prevention, and malnutrition screening and prevention. 

Working alongside partners and local communities, we ensure that children and mothers receive the quality healthcare and nutritional support they need, even in the most challenging and remote conditions. We are also providing mothers and children with essential emergency healthcare and referral support, so they have access to secondary healthcare services with no financial barriers.  

Nutrition 

Combating the severe malnutrition crisis, we work closely with Civil Society Organisations to empower families in recognising and preventing child malnutrition. Through tools like Family MUAC (Mid-Upper Arm Circumference) and state-specific guidance in local languages, we are reaching families on the ground. We provide parents with vital information and resources to detect and prevent malnutrition for their children by themselves, fostering long-term resilience.  

WASH and Shelter 

Through our WASH, Non-Food Items (NFI), and Shelter initiatives, we are supporting children and their families with essential support to promote health, stability, and resilience. We are providing hygiene kits and hygiene messages to prevent water-borne diseases like AWD, including menstrual hygiene items for adolescents and women. In addition, safe water distribution and people with disability friendly latrine construction and renovation are also one of our top priorities. 

We integrate and collaborate with different sectors to avoid falling behind in WASH services, especially for children and adolescents.  Save the Children also provides support to families to repair damaged homes, prioritising minor and moderate repairs so children could be in safe and dignified living conditions, reducing exposure to weather and protection risks.
