Under Child Rights Governance, we work to strengthen capacity of Local National Actors including government, civil society and children in building sustainable accountability mechanism that deliver children and youth rights. Our programs span from building capacity of CSOs including children to report, monitor, follow up and demand child rights in different reporting mechanisms including UNCRC, UNCPD, UPR, VNR, CEDAW and ACERWC to advocating with children for legal and policy reforms including on civic space, child marriage, corporal punishment, FGM, child labour, and girls’ rights to education among other rights violations.
Further we are working to strengthen child participation structures at all levels through technical and financial support to children councils as well as supporting their governance structures through elections. Our programs are focusing on building child agency and ensure that children are represented, their voices are heard and inform decision-making processes at all levels including climate decision. SC Tanzania aspires to be known for incubating, nurturing and supporting child led initiatives including informal child led initiatives.
