Child-centred Protection, Cash and Education Support for Earthquake-Affected Families Following Container Settlement Closures in Adıyaman
This project aims to support families transitioning from temporary container based settlements to urban living in Adıyaman, while responding to urgent basic needs that arise during this period. It seeks to reduce barriers that children face in accessing education and to mitigate protection risks associated with the transition to city life.
Climate Awareness and Resilience for Emergencies & Sustainability Project (CARES)
The project aims to develop and disseminate a 16 session climate awareness, resilience and emergency education programme for children in three languages (Turkish, English, Arabic). The modules and family guidebooks were developed in collaboration with a team of experts. After piloting the programme with children in Sultanbeyli with our partner, according to feedback the modules were finalized. The finalized modules will be rolled out nationwide, with collaboration of AFAD, through Training of Trainers sessions for Ministry of Education (MoNE) and AFAD staff.
Strong Youth Steps
This project aims to improve the integration, resilience, psychosocial wellbeing and economic self-sufficiency of economically vulnerable youth (18 – 35 years old) in Istanbul. By strengthening the capacity and quality of local municipal services through training, additional human resources and other capacity building/sharing initiatives, the project seeks to create sustainable local change in the provision of inclusive services for both communities.
