The Uganda Response Innovation Lab (U-RIL) in a panel discussion at Hive Colab-Kanjokya, social entrepreneurs from across Uganda gathered to explore how enterprises can grow without compromising their social mission.
U-RIL believes that maintaining mission integrity while scaling requires a strategic, values-driven approach, setting clear impact goals, building partnerships with purpose-led entities (as demonstrated in its Kumwe Recoverable Grant model), applying human-centered design, and being intentional about funding and impact depth.
During the event, U-RIL reaffirmed its commitment to supporting social innovators through its core functions, Mapping & Convening, Matchmaking, and Evidence Generation, while showcasing tools such as the SMILE database and SHINE IT Toolkit, which is designed to help innovators generate and organize evidence, demonstrate impact, inform decision-making, and scale their solutions effectively.
