Save the Children strongly condemns these fraudulent activities and wishes to clarify that we do not charge fees for any of our programs. Such actions are illegal and undermine our mission to support vulnerable children and their families.
Save the Children began its operations in Uganda in 1959 working every day and in times of crisis so children can fulfil their rights to a healthy start in life, the opportunity to learn and protection from harm. We operate across the country, working in partnership with government, communities, civil society and the private sector, to deliver programs that have a lasting impact, inspire change and uphold children’s rights.
"We are deeply concerned about these reports of individuals exploiting the Save the Children brand to extort money from community members. Save the Children does not request or accept payments for any services or opportunities we provide. We urge the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to local authorities or one of our offices." Famari Barro, Country Director, Save the Children Uganda.
We encourage anyone who encounters such scams to contact Save the Children Uganda directly through our official channels or report the matter to the nearest police station.
