Generation Hope Goals: When Young People from Viet Nam Bring in Their Solution for a Sustainable Regional Future

25 Feb 2026 Vietnam

The youth group Green Chenh Venh represented Viet Nam at the Generation Hope Goals Final Event during the 13th Asia-Pacific Forum on Sustainable Development (APFSD) in Bangkok.

Generation Hope Goals is a regional initiative that seeks to identify and promote youth-led sustainable development solutions, connecting promising ideas with policy platforms and opportunities to scale their impact.

This year, the programme received more than 350 applications from 1,400 children and young people across the region. Only five finalist teams from 5 countries were selected to present at the forum – and Viet Nam was proudly among them.

Green Chenh Venh introduced a model that integrates a circular economy with community-based ecotourism, rooted in the Indigenous knowledge of the Bru–Van Kieu community. Their “Chicken–Vegetable–Worm” model increases crop yields by 30% without chemical fertilizers, while replacing single-use plastics with traditional bamboo products to improve livelihoods and reduce waste.

Viet Nam’s participation demonstrates that young people are not only talking about sustainable development – they are actively building solutions for their communities.

Save the Children remains committed to accompanying and empowering young people in Viet Nam to be heard, to be supported, and to play an active role in advancing sustainable development. 💚
