Violence in Cabo Delgado has displaced tens of thousands of people, with over 49,000 arriving in Chiúre district, where an organisation is leading a comprehensive humanitarian response. This response includes family reunification, psychosocial support, nutritional screening, vaccination, and distribution of essential goods. However, needs are growing at an alarming rate, outstripping resources and requiring more help to protect vulnerable children and families.
Violence in Cabo Delgado has affected tens of thousands of people, forcing families to abandon their homes. In Chiúre district, the situation is critical. Due to recent attacks, 49,093 people have arrived in Chiúre, and the number increases every day.
Our video shows the needs on the ground and our emergency response.
We are on the ground leading the humanitarian response in Micone, one of the main reception centres in Chiúre. Our teams work tirelessly to protect children and their families.
So far, our actions have included:
Family Tracing and Reunification (FTR) for unaccompanied and separated children, psychosocial support in Child-Friendly Spaces, nutritional screening and treatment for children and adolescent mothers, child vaccination, emergency educational activities, and the distribution of food, hygiene kits, and shelter to hundreds of families, in collaboration with partner organisations.
Needs, however, are growing at an alarming rate, outstripping available resources. More families arrive every day, and many children need immediate support to survive, learn, and be protected. Your help can ensure no child is left behind.
