In collaboration with National Human Rights Commission (NCHR), we reaffirm children's rights to dignity, protection, and opportunity in Mozambique. Save the Children and NCHR co-hosted the 4th Regional Conference of National Human Rights Institutions in Southern Africa, addressing priorities like ending early and forced unions, strengthening child protection systems, and safeguarding children in humanitarian and climate crises, while highlighting challenges in weak law implementation and limited child participation.

At Save the Children, fighting for children’s rights isn’t just what we do—it’s who we are. Every day. But today, we shout louder.

Under the theme “Human Rights, Our Everyday Essentials,” we reaffirm every child’s right to dignity, protection, and opportunity in Mozambique.

Last month, we co-hosted the 4th Regional Conference of National Human Rights Institutions in Southern Africa with CNDH, turning commitments into action. Together with six NHRIs, we tackled urgent priorities:

  • Ending early and forced unions
  • Strengthening child protection systems
  • Safeguarding children in humanitarian and climate crises

This is part of our commitment to equip and amplify local actors, ensuring children’s rights are not just promised—but delivered.

Why it matters:

  • Weak implementation of child protection laws
  • Limited child participation and complaint mechanisms
  • Persistent harmful practices and climate-related risks

Our call is clear: From commitments to action. From words to impact. Every child deserves dignity, safety, and opportunity—every day.

Join us in working with National Human Rights Commission and duty bearers to ensure delivery in 2026 and beyond.
