This fourth season of the bracelet’s ‘Save One’ campaign comes as a new Save the Children report with research led by the Vrije Universiteit Brussel finds that children born in 2020 are projected to experience unprecedented levels of climate extremes – such as heatwaves, river floods, drought and wildfires – throughout their lifetimes
SEOUL 9 May 2025 – Save the Children has launched a new, forest-green bracelet to support children affected by extreme weather events, including floods, and the eye-catching design has already been seen on the wrists of stars, including K-Pop artists.
This fourth season of the bracelet’s ‘Save One’ campaign comes as a new Save the Children report with research led by the Vrije Universiteit Brussel finds that children born in 2020 are projected to experience unprecedented levels of climate extremes - such as heatwaves, river floods, drought and wildfires – throughout their lifetimes.* [1]
However, if collective action is taken to achieve the Paris Agreement's goal of limiting global warming to 1.5°C by 2100, 58 million children’s lives (around half of all children born in 2020) would be spared from experiencing the worst impacts of climate extremes, according to the report Born into the Climate Crisis 2. An Unprecedented Life: Protecting Children's Rights in a Changing Climate. [2]
This includes 5 million children who would be spared from unprecedented lifetime exposure to river floods.[3]
The bracelet features the word ‘Save’ engraved on a metal centerpiece, with the band looping around. The design of Save the Children’s latest ‘Save One’ bracelet is inspired by rescue ropes and the lifebuoys used by emergency responders.
The bracelet also symbolizes a connection to humanitarian workers saving children on the frontlines. The “S” pattern represents SOS – a global distress signal – while the forest green colour represents hope and protection from floodwaters.
The launch of the bracelet also comes as many parts of Southeast Asia and South Asia enter their annual rainy season, which usually lasts several months and can sometimes bring flash floods that wreak havoc on livelihoods, crops and homes.
Global attention on the bracelet has surged thanks to the participation of K-pop stars.
Earlier this month V, a member of the South Korean boyband BTS, was spotted wearing the Save One bracelet in a workout photo, sparking enthusiasm among fans while Hanni, a member of the popular South Korean band NewJeans, also wore the bracelet during a live broadcast.
Save One was launched in 2022 by Save the Children Korea to support children in emergency situations caused by crises such as famine, conflict, and natural disasters.
Supporters can join the Save One campaign through Save the Children Korea’s official website.
All proceeds are used exclusively to support children in emergency situations.
Save the Children Korea was established in 1953 aftermath of Korean war and began its transformation from being a recipient of international aid to becoming a donor country. In Korea, Save the Children is a leading organization addressing child rights issues in child protection and a major contributor to the global Save the Children movement in responding to humanitarian crises.
